Truck Design

A CSUN Dining distribution truck design concept to promote the food that is sold on campus.

PROMPT

The University Corporation Marketing is in charge of running campaigns for affiliates of CSUN’s campus. They take over marketing for CSUN Dining: a department that is a part of the University and is in charge of bringing and distributing food across campus. They became a client of IntersectLA when they were in need of a design for their distribution trucks. I was tasked with creating a concept that met their vision; they wanted a design that portrayed the food that was available on campus in a positive way.

IDEATION

As a student at CSUN, I was very familiar with the food that is served across campus, and I have noticed a trend in the most popular foods that students buy. I sketched out these foods and combined them to compose a design that laid them out in a fluid way. I went for a chalk-colored background with a hand-lettered caption that matched the clients’ vision.

RESULT

The end result was a playful and modern design that combined vector graphics, textured elements, and hand-drawn type.
