A concept book cover based on the existing documentary, Foo Fighters: Back and Forth (2011).
PROMPT
Foo Fighters is an American rock band founded in 1994 by former Nirvana drummer, Dave Grohl. Initially a project of Grohl's, this band was an approach to continue to create good music after the demise of Nirvana. This concept book cover is a portrayal of the inspirational figure that he is; I wanted to create an intricate design that showcases Grohl’s leadership and contemporary music style.
IDEATION
Before developing any graphics, I created a mind map in order to organize what I wanted to portray in my artwork. I summarized the styles, colors, and graphic elements and mapped out how I wanted each of them to look. After brainstorming, I began to sketch out ideas that would reflect what I wanted, keeping in mind Shepard Fairey's graphic style, since that is what I wanted to mimic in my piece.

RESULT
With graphic influences from Shepard Fairey, I put together Foo Fighters Biography, a fictional book cover that presents Dave Grohl as a notable figure in the band and music industry. I created an elaborate graphic style that mirrors the artistic style that Fairey uses in activism art. Dave Grohl is the focal point of this piece, adorned with a symmetric composition to emphasize his role and importance as the founder of Foo Fighters.
