I'll Never Say
Album Cover Design
An album cover for upcoming artist Marcelo Rossil, meant to be uploaded to Spotify along with the release of the single.
PROMPT
This album cover was created for an emerging music artist, Marcelo Rossil. He wrote I’ll Never Say as an old-timer love song, which is what he wanted his album cover to depict. The client came to me with this project with a specific vision in mind for the artwork: a gramophone sitting in the middle of a dark room. It was my job to recreate this vision and further develop it to go along with the song title.
IDEATION
I began by sketching out a few combinations of the client's desired image and some type forms. I let the client choose which Type treatment he liked better and created a final sketch of this, and then continued to digitalizing everything.
RESULT
I used a three dimensional model of a gramophone and rendered it with the lighting that it would have when placed in a dark room. I created a unified lettering form that seemed to emerge from the gramophone’s speaker, as if it was playing the song. The addition of textures and photo filters gave this piece an age-old finish and gave life to Marcelo’s vision for the artwork of his song.
